Cando Lethbridge Multi-Purpose Terminal (MPT) is centrally located in the heart of Southwest Alberta with access to the Rocky Mountains, Western provinces, and Pacific Northwest regions. The strategic location provides customers with a unit train staging and storage location with first class railcar repair shops directly on site.

Location

The property runs adjacent to Highway 4 and is a part of the CANAMEX Corridor, directly connecting to Interstate 15 in Montana. It is serviced daily by CPKC.

Operations

Current capacity is 1,700 railcar spots with the opportunity to expand. The site includes first class railcar repair shops, supporting storage and arrival/departure tracks, and a large laydown area for transload activities.

Services include:

  • Railcar staging and storage with unit train handling capability – loaded and empty, all commodities
  • 1-day availability of railcars
  • Transloading various products such as energy & chemical and wind energy products and feed grain and fertilizer
  • Washing/purging general purpose & pressure cars
  • Railcar maintenance/repair
  • Railcar inspections
  • Industrial rail switching

Wind Energy & Laydown

With onsite rail switching services, easy access to major highways, and close proximity to the Canada/US border, the terminal is the preferred transloading location for windmill projects in Alberta and northern Montana.

With 35 acres of laydown area, the facility and staff make movement and storage of product effortless.
