Cando Rail & Terminals was founded in 1978 in rural Manitoba with a simple goal: solve problems for the rail industry. What began with removing abandoned rail lines has grown into a North American leader in first and last mile rail operating services and terminal infrastructure.

Over the years, Cando has evolved alongside its customers, expanding its services, growing its terminal network, and staying true to its founding values of hard work, innovation, and a “can do” attitude.

In 2026, Cando acquired the rail services business of Savage, bringing together two organizations with shared values and complementary strengths. Today, we move forward as one unified company under the Cando Rail & Terminals name, building on our history while shaping the future of rail service across North America.
