Track construction underway at new Kamloops rail terminal

Kamloops, BC, December 20, 2016 – Cando Rail Services announced today that it has begun constructing the tracks at its new rail terminal in Kamloops. It expects to have several customers on site by summer 2017 as it expands its services into British Columbia.

“This is the start of phase 1 of this terminal project and of our expansion into BC,” said company CEO Brian Cornick. “Planning and site preparation took us a little longer than expected as we are taking care to ensure this operation is well positioned for future growth.”

Cando is one of the leading rail services companies in Canada, with operations at more than 20 locations across Canada. The company will offer a wide variety of services in BC including industrial switching, transloading, railcar storage and repair, and track and engineering services.

“Kamloops is the ideal location for this terminal,” said Cornick. “We are following up on various transloading opportunities and the location will grow into a strong BC headquarters for us.”

Cando purchased the former Weyerhaeuser site earlier this year.
